The Parable of The Two Schools

There were two schools.

The teacher of one school said to her students, “You are wise and don’t need a teacher.”
Then, day after day the students would say, “I am wise and don’t need a teacher.” And day after day the teacher would say, “Yes. You are wise and don’t need a teacher.”
And night after night the students would study “You are wise and don’t need a teacher.”
After this, the students went forth and taught many saying, “You are wise and don’t need a teacher.”

The teacher of the other school said to her students, “You must be teachable and be eager to study without being urged.”
Then, one student day after day would say, “Great teacher, teach me! Great teacher, teach me!” And day after day the teacher would say, “Have you studied the lesson already given?”
Another student night after night would study and day after day would say, “I have studied; I am wise and don’t need a teacher.”
After this, the teacher went forth and sought any saying, “Who is teachable and eager to study without being urged? Come! I have many things to say to you now!”
