If you would like to support the message and work of the Branch Davidian SDA Association, one way you can do so is by making a financial contribution. As with most things, it takes money to do the work we do, and the amount of financial support we receive directly impacts how much we can do and how quickly we can do it. Any amount you can give will help us not only maintain the large amount of free material we have already published (for example, by keeping this website online), but it is also a means by which you can co-labor with us to produce more free material and advance the cause of truth more broadly.
There are currently three methods for making a financial contribution, as outlined below. Regardless of which method you use, please specify the nature of your contribution, whether 1st tithe, 2nd tithe, or a general offering/contribution. If it is a combination of these, please specify the breakdown of each category.
Note: Funds reported and/or transferred to the treasury of this association are not eligible to be claimed as charitable tax credits since this association is not a registered charity.
Method 1: Online Contribution
If you would like to use a form like this one to send a contribution in a currency other than USD, please email us at treas@bdsda.com. We will need to create another form for your preferred currency, which should be possible in most cases. If you wish to send a contribution in CAD, you may prefer to send it via Interac e-Transfer. If so, scroll down to Method 3 for the details.
Method 2: Cashier's Cheque or Money Order
You may send a contribution via cashier's cheque or money order made payable to "Branch Association" and sent to the following address:
Branch Association
69 HWY 583 South
Jogues, Ontario, Canada
P0L 1R0
(The postal code is letter-number-letter number-letter-number.)
Whether on the cashier's cheque or money order itself, or in a letter enclosed with the cheque or money order, please specify whether the amount is 1st tithe, 2nd tithe, or a general offering/contribution. If it is a combination, please specify the amount belonging to each category.
Method 3: Interac e-Transfer (Canada Only)
If you use Canadian banking, you may send your contribution via Interac e-Transfer to pres@bdsda.com. Please specify whether the amount is 1st tithe, 2nd tithe, or a general offering/contribution. If it is a combination, please specify the amount belonging to each category.
Reporting Tithes and Offerings
If you live outside of Canada and the United States, you may still send general offerings/contributions using methods 1-2 above. On the other hand, for regular tithes and offerings, we recommend keeping them in your local area and simply reporting them to the association using the form below:
Form for Reporting Tithes and Offerings
If you have questions or ideas regarding how tithes and offerings can be used to advance the cause of truth in your area, please email them to treas@bdsda.com.
Figuring Tithes and Offerings
Those who come to believe the Branch message may have questions about how exactly to figure their tithes and offerings. Here is a brief guide:
1st tithe is 10% of one's net income. 2nd tithe is 10% of the remainder after subtracting 1st tithe. In other words, 2nd tithe is equivalent to 9% of one's net income. Offerings don't have a specified amount, yet Ellen White's counsel on the topic is a helpful guide. Regarding ancient Israel she said, "No less than one third of their income was devoted to sacred and religious purposes" (Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 3, p. 395.3). Also, "Now God requires, not less, but greater gifts than at any other period of the world. The principle laid down by Christ is that the gifts and offerings should be in proportion to the light and blessings enjoyed" (Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 3, p. 392.2). The clear implication is that in Ellen White's day, believers should have given more than one third of their income. Present truth believers know that the amount of light given since Ellen White's time is simply enormous, such that the amount we should give in tithes and offerings should far exceed one third. Indeed, we are now at the point where we should return to the practice of the early church in devoting all our possessions to the cause of truth (Luke 14:33; Acts 2:41-47; 4:32-5:11). Doing so doesn't require sending all money and possessions to a central location, but it does require literally disclaiming the idea that what you have is your own private property over which you have exclusive rights. It is to recognize that you are only a steward of what you have, being ready to send or use it whenever and wherever it is needed as God directs. For those who have given all, sending tithes and offerings is a matter of transferring funds within the association rather than transferring funds to the association.
